Some really interesting stuff on that link to secretprojects. Looking through their thread there are links to wind tunnel testing of Lockheed, Grumman and McDonnell Douglas proposals for the A-X project as well as early Fairchild and Northrop designs that grew into the A-9 and A-10.
Interesting to see that ideas the various companies considered; like a pusher turboprop with Y-tail, a single-seat OV-1 and a T-33 derivative plus some other designs that look like they were WWII-era concepts. |
