Why do so many people think that is a good movie? Me and the better half Netflex'ed it and watched it last night. All of our friends that it was a great movie and it won awards so we watched it. I was not even entertained by it. Bad plot and poor lines. Major suckage |
+1 I'm with you!!!! If this is "Acadamy Award" stuff, Hollyweird better take a step backward and re-evaluate things ..... |

I enjoyed it, and upon looking back at it I found more and more funny stuff than I did during the initial viewing. It's well made and acted, and it's easy to see a lot of similarities of that dysfunctional family to normal people. (Admittedly, no one in my family remotely resembles the heroin-addicted grandfather, though). I laughed out loud several times, and am glad I saw it. |

We thought it was okay, not great, not terrible. Alan Arkin was the best part of the movie. His speech to the son was the highlight of the film. I've always thought he was hilarious, ever since I saw him in the original "The In-Laws". What I can't figure out is why so many people think the Oscars are a big deal, like a movie can only be good if it's "Oscar material". It's just a bunch of industry folks having a mutual masturbation session. WTF should we care? |
