| As I increase inventory I was wondering, what is the normal combat load out these days? May base amount of mags and ammo on this. Want to see how close I may be. |

In the '80's it was 7, two three magazine pouches plus one on the weapon, with the LBV it went to 9, four dual-mag pouches plus one... |

Yeah, we carried 3 extras loaded in one of the outside pouches on our pack. The idea was you could rapidly refill a pouch if you had to. |

Well, going by that it would be 13, since the pouched at the top of an ALICE Large would hold two 30 round magazines each (on an ROTC FTX, had a prick PLT decide he was going to inspect my, the PSG's, equipment, trying to catch me with something he could get me in trouble for, what he didn't know was the BN CO called me that morning to tell me what he was planning :-) But he somehow managed to find three of the six magazines of blanks I had in those three pouches... and turned them over to the Cadet Company CO (he'd already gotten burned by the TAC officer for trying to complain about my sheath knife under my uniform, I had accurately quoted our cadet handbook that only prohbited sheath knives on our TA-50) to deal with - and Pete just held on to them until we got to the field and handed them back, nothing was said about the 200 rounds of blanks on stripper clips I had in my buttpack...) |
