Not WV cops either.   Town cops of a bordering state

I live 30mins from my store and i get a call form the alarm company that the glass was broke and the police have been dispatched.  Im on my way to get in my truck to go back and I called another manager who lives 5mins away.. he said he would take care of it.  He just called me back.  When he pulled up 3 police cars were the 3 sides of the building waiting for him.  He got out and the officers said "go on in and turn the alarm off, we will be right here"

Wisky...Tango..Foxtrot...

He said he went in alone.  I almost yelled at him for doing that and not making the officers go in first.  I wish he got the names of them. pisses me off..

let me edit. I highly respect State Troopers of both states.  Iv had alot of bad experiences with town cops

Go in alone?

I have gone into the store I work for with a gun drawn more than once.

um maybe they already were inside before he got there and cleared it?

Your story does not indicate if the local police were on scene before your manager, and cleared the building prior to his arrival. Maybe they did and just wanted him to shut the alarm off before they take the report....

If they did send your manager in first, then yeah....WTF.

Was it a false alarm?

That is pretty standard. Every time the alarm has gone off at any store I've worked at, they wait for myself or another manager to go in and see what is going on.

sounds like they already cleared the store

Is this another cop bashing thread

Isolated incidence, at least they got home safe and all that.

This is my thinking, as well.

Yep. Some of them sure are.

Especially those Lt and above.

Wonder what would have happened if the manager said ok, pulled out his own gun, then went in to the store.
Would have been good for a laugh at least.

Alarm went off at my mother in law's house while she was out of town.
Turns out that some kids had a garage door opener and were driving around seeing how many garage doors it would open.
Her neighbor went to close the garage door and was going to exit the house through the front door since she was not fast enough to beat the door before it closed.
when I got there, the officers had already cleared the house and got the statement from the neighbor.

No glass broken, no signs of entry. Turn your alarm off.

Thats pretty dumb.

Usually we have to tell the store owner or resident NOT to go in before or without us.

Yep and send them a bill for repeat false alarms. Fix your cheap, shitty system.

Eh, I see it as a public relations thing. I remind them that as tax payers, they are paying for a service. Why not use it. I don't mind searching the house/building, and it's good practice for the new guys.
