Just Ranting...... Haven't gone shooting in over 2 months. Friend was on leave(Air Force) for a death in the family, and I was gonna take him shooting. Went to Wally World, and bought a bunch of shotgun/rifle/pistol ammo. Went to the local shooting pit, that is actually for shooting(signs etc..). Went to turn into the road and there's a gate going across Parked the car, and walked inside. Bunch of Heavy equipment. Looks like there using it for a gravel/sand pit    I'm sure this is going to piss a lot of people off. I really don't want to go to a shooting range, so looks like my shooting days are over.

There was a nice old abandoned gravel pit about 15 miles from me for shooting. We've been going to it for over 20 years. Then about 10 years ago, the landowner locked it all up because some idiots were riding 4 wheelers, hurt themselves and tried to sue him.
It was a great place for shooting, camping, wheeling, or just having a cookout. We always kept the place clean when we camped there, and the old guy appreciated it. Had lots of good time with the wimmens there too.
He will still let us go on the land occasionally, but he is getting on in years. Wish I had the money to buy the place. LC |
