I wear gloves whenever I wear a jacket, which is about 9 months out of the year.  My last pair were these hatch gloves, but I've worn a hole at the fingertips in about 9 months.  It was made out of kevlar, so I thought they would last longer, but I guess not.

I was just looking at this line of gloves and I like the fingertip protection that it has, which I hope will enable them to last longer for me.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good pair of gloves that will see everyday use?  I'm looking for something that is flexible and not too thick.  Being able to feel stuff is a plus too.  Thanks for your time.

Try the Hatch Street Guards.  I wear gloves all shift/every shift and each pair has lasted about a year.  They are slash resistant and allow for great dexerity.  I wear them even during qualifications as I would most likely have them on in a gunfight.  Cost is around $35-$40.  I bought a pair of the damascus and only wore them for one shift before returning to buy another pair of hatch.  I have tried several different gloves and 9 months to a year is about the best you can hope for without the fingertips wearing through.  Let me know how it turns out....Stay Safe!

I cheat and buy Mechanics gloves from Wal-mart.  Plain black, and they usually have them in thin, and Heavy weights for about $10.00, if not those, then i buy batting gloves.

ive had the hatch friskmaster max for over 3 years and while theyre worn, theyre still holding up perfect, no tears, rips, or signs the seams are letting go yet.

To santize them, i cover them in hand sanitizer while still wearing them. theyre holding up very well.

but they are thick.

Love mine.  They are particularly great for the bike. The shape makes them comfortable and they breathe well because of the finger vents.

The only downsides are because of the knuckle plate 1.) They aren't the best for searches and 2.) They are tough to get in the sap pocket.  Other than that, they are pretty much bombproof.  For anything that involves any kind of contact or rough stuff, I wouldn't want anything else.  $70 retail (if you can find them) $35 LEO.

The "Mechanics" gloves work great unless you need the needle stick protection.

Also if you have a NAPA in your area they warrenty the Mechanics gloves for life if you keep the receipt. They've given me several pair for the original $22

Looking for new gloves, since mine (Hatch) have holes.

How do you get the LE discount? Do they have a special website, or do you have to call in an order?

Oakley's LE/MIL website

all you have to do is register to see their prices, mostly about 1/2 off.

I've got a pair of Hatch Operators (i think) and they're starting to wear around the index fingers after about 3 months. I'll just buy another pair because I like them

I get about a year out of my Friskmasters. Work pays for them so I just don't worry about it!
However I am going to invest in something better for ERT work. it's a bit more rough and tumble at times.
