Looking at getting a new printer for personal use... Was looking at the InkJet Lexmark printeres that are around $100. Would like one that Prints/scans. Also would like it to print decent quality pics... not high volume just occasional use. HP seems more expensive. Who is cheaper for ink? Is there anytjing in particular I need to look for when choosing a printer for this type of use? Thanks |

I would stay away from Lexmark inkjets… while Lexmark inkjet printers work ink is insanely priced… with low end Lexmark printers it can be cheaper to buy a new printer than new ink cartridges. I personal prefer Canon over HP and Epson because you can get new (not refilled) aftermarket ink cartridges for a fraction of what you can get new HP and Epson ink cartridges. New (not refilled) aftermarket Canon ink cartridges can be found as low as for $4-5 black cartridge and $6-8 color cartridge. Over the life of a printer that means several hundreds of dollars saving in ink cost. |
Where are you getting the new Canon cartridges for that price? I'v gone thru a few sets of "refurbs"I bought at Inksmile with no problems but would rather pay a few bucks more for new. I'v owned one Lexmark and it seemed to go thru a LOT of ink! |
The cartridges are not Canon brand but aftermarket new manufacture Canon compatible cartridges. Most of the online printer supply places have them. 4inkjets.com inkjetsuperstore.com lasermonks.com |
