2464 Users Are Currently Online There are 483 Team Members, 927 Members, and 1054 Guests I just noticed how many "Guests" there are. I'm curious what you lurkers get out of reading our posts. Is it that you live vicariously through our online personas? Join the board and let us know what the attraction is. |
You are correct in a manner of speaking. The feds do seek knowledge on both technical and legal issues. |

Lurked for a long time, mostly in tech discussions, and finally built a rifle. Haven't posted pics or anything, but, I got a lot out of the tech discussions, and this is my thanks to those who post in tech dis. GD is fun to check out, but I'm not here every day. I don't feel it necessary to chime in on every religion/had to draw down.../my girlfriend is.../troll/ DU/IDF girls/ and on and on, etc. etc. AR15.com is great. There's a lot of good stuff here, and I'm feeling more and more like I should support this site. Perhaps I will. And, even if I do, will I post more? Probably not. Politically, I'm pretty much aligned with this place. Religiously, I've got my own beliefs, and I don't feel it necessary to debate that with anyone. Guns: love 'em. We're all on board with that? So, I mention the big firestarter topics, the rest of the stuff, it's entertaining. I, personally, enjoy the debate, without having to participate. Dude, did that just sound like Johnny Cochrane? See! This is why it's better to lurk. Drunk bastard.........anyhow........ |

How many are here just reading links members sent... And how many really have nothing to offer us, but a 'member' statistic number? Hell, how many dead accounts do we have? I dont think it matters if they remain guests, less hassle for them... and it all appears the same to us. |

I just never remember to log in unless I feel like posting...I read every night...you guys know everything so I never have anything to say except unless I need to ask a question but reading will normally answer that for me...SO THERE DAMMIT Back into 'lurk' made Later, Wes |
Heard plenty, but I can't really say how the Sheriff's upper command structure feels about it right now. I'm a friend of one of the mucky mucks that is attending all of the community meetings to quell the racial divide. They aren't happy to be there, to say the least. I don't have any info about the fired rounds. My agency is getting quite a kick out of their hit ratio: 4/120 or 3%. ![]() |
I've been curious about how many shots missed the van completely. With all the holes in the houses, surely not all of those passed through the van first. |
You know. I've thought the samething. Who are they? |
Well, since my thread is alive again, I did hear a bit more about the shooting aftermath. Sheriff Baca personally went to the residents and apologized. He offered them double their damages, and most of them said, "F.U., I'm suing." Some of the rounds ended up hitting the second floor of the houses/apartments. Oops. Anybody into the union politics will also enjoy the fact that ALADS, the deputies' main union, dropped the ball. When they got the call that a shooting had just occurred, they did nothing, and I mean nothing. They didn't roll to the scene or even call one of the attorneys to go consult with the shooters before they gave statements to investigators. Instead, the tiny competing union called LASPA rolled out, fed the entire entourage of deputies, investigators and everybody else. They also got their attorneys on it immediately. In fact, it was the attorneys' strategy of lining the deputies up in front of the TV cameras and apologizing that probably saved them from riots. They got to see the deps as people, not just coppers. And they got to see the racial mix of them. That is all. |
Nope. Many rounds either penetrated and then hit houses or just plain missed it. I heard how many houses were hit the other day, but I can't remember what was said. The numbers will leak out, and I'll let you guys know when I find out. In fact, the Sheriff's Office of Independent Review tends to publish the unvarnished facts of cases, and this one seems ripe for that kind of treatment. I just wish the deps would admit that it was adrenalin and contagious fire that caused the situation. Those are human emotions and fully explainable. I've seen contagious fire on the range many times, and although I haven't been in a shooting yet myself (knock |
