So I got my new AR put together Sunday night, and got a chance to hit the range this afternoon.  It's an Essential Arms lower with Rock River Arms lpk, MIAD grip, CTR stock, and CMMG M4 14.5" with perm Phantom 1/7 twist upper.  Aimpoint CompML3 in LaRue mount.

I put 100 rounds of Wolf Military Classic .223 55 grain soft points downrange with zero problems.  She ran 100%.  I was using PMags, of course.

I also got to squeeze off a few rounds through my 1911.

I forgot to put the loc-tite on my mount screws, and tighten it up good, so after I got the Aimpoint sighted in, I realized it was loose.  I'm about to remedy that problem, and hopefully get back to the range tomorrow to re-zero.

Flame suit on.

I'll grab my A2 Bushmaster with the irons sighted in.

Get a BUIS.

I've used Wolf in my AKs, but never any of my ARs... With current ammo prices I'm thinking about it... How does cleaning compare vs brass ammo?

I just stripped the bolt carrier group down, and it was pretty dirty after 100 rounds.  I didn't do anything to it prior to shooting though.  I have no complaints with the Wolf.  Just keep your shit clean, and you're GTG.  I have quality 62 and 75 grain brass stashed for SHTF.  The Wolf is just for the range. I can't afford to plink with XM193.  I also don't have the place to get set up with a Dillon. I will when I get out of college though.

ETA:  I have shot plenty of blue box Monarch through my Bushmaster with no problems.  I also put plenty of Golden Tiger through my AK before I sold it.

I'm not finished with it.  I have a LaRue FUG to put on it, but I have to get a LaRue 7.0 hand guard first.  Then I'll put a Magpul BUS when they are released, and then it will be finished.

I realize you've got bucks in the Aimpoint and the mount....

BUT ...

It looks - SUPER FRAGILE - with the skinny mount.... sheesh.

I don't think the LaRue mount will give me any problems.

Go-head

Ain't his fault .. there isn't enough scope to latch on to, with another ring/base.
