Is it all supposed to be green tip? Seen some at the local shop today but it wasn't green tip. Is there any difference?

not for sure but i think ppu or something like that maybe, does that sound right. Boxes were dated 05

Most of it is, supposedly the Privi M855 I'm waiting for wasn't painted. Last batch was, guess they ran out of green.
ETA: PPU is Privi Partizan. Maybe they're just lazy sometimes. Hold a magnet to the tip.

My PRIV is green
My Winchester Ranger M855 (the good stuff) is green, I think....haven't looked at it in a while. Saving it for SHTF and all.

So is the PPU the best stuff to get price was high today. $11.95 for 20 rds or 200 for $109. They did have some 7.62x51 for $13 a box I wasn't too sure on it either.

A magnet is the best way to tell if the bullet is SS109 (IE: Steel penetrator). If the cartridge is actuall loaded to M855 spec is another matter.

If its not painted, I would not buy it at that price unless it passed the magnet test. Privi also makes M-193 and some one could be trying to sell it as M-855 instead of m-193. If it passes the magnet test get some if you can afford it. I don't think we will be seeing a lot more of the M-855. I have a feeling it will be banned as armor piercing in the near future. In my opinion Privi m-855 is some of the best out there if you can find it.
