As long as you know where the spinning wheel of death is, and respect it, you're perfectly fine. Many engine adjustments must be made with the engine running, and you have to walk around the prop to get to what you need to adjust.

A friend of mine. A gunsmith that flew for the wrong side called it.
A loud purr, More like a cat. Even with the thick windows you could tell how well it was running.
Not that I would know.
