Could somebody tell me how to stop the stabbing ice pick pain in my joints and muscles? I feel like I can't move. What's left of my hair hurts. I just started the academy and I need to get over the pain as quickly as I can. I am 44 years old and not 20 any more. Do I need to man up and forget the pain or is there a solution that somebody has been keeping a secret all these years? If somebody mentions more exercize, I'll kick you right in the stones, I swear to all that is Holy! Can you die of just pain alone? |

Well then, hello from a brother down south. I was going to say, if you've got a super low BF %, make sure you're getting enough fats in your diet to pad out your joints... but it sounds like you stopped producing cartilage about 15 years ago.  If it doesn't get better with anti-inflammatories, try a glucosamine or fish oil supplement. Obviously, if it gets worse, get a medical opinion. Good luck |
| IB is great for general releif. If its your joints glucosamine. If it your muscles start taking some protein to help your muscle rebuild. I've been taking the Syntha 6 by BSN. Works great and my recovery time is incredible now. Plus it taste great the strawberry flavor is just like drinking strawberry milk. |

there is no way to quickly fix the problem, but I would recommend Naproxen Sodium (the generic will save you money), and TONS of water, as much as you can handle to flush lactic acid out of your muscles. Also, if you have a significant other, a good deep friction massage will break up some of the LA as well. I agree that additional exercise is not want you want to do right now, but walking and stretching will help. On a side note, several of the prescription meds like Vioxx, Celebrex and Bextra had a difficult time showing any additional benefit over Naproxen Sodium. 2 of the 3 arent available anymore btw. |
