I have never used outlook for own email. I have attached some lawsuit related emails from as associate's outlook account to my yahoo account to organize and resend to the attorney. I have realized that I cannot access the content of those emails.  The attachment is listed as: "emails.eml" and the individual emails are: ".msg".

Apparently I have Outlook on my computer even though I have never used it.  When I try to download and open the attached emails I am prompted to open an email account utilizing Outlook.  I don't know if doing this will allow me to view the content of these emails.  I also don't know which type of "server my new account will work with" pop3, imap, http, or microsoft exchange server.

I don't plan on using Outlook other than to access these emails if possible.  Any insight or recomendations? I am at a loss.

Thanks in advance.

Yea its a PITA sometimes.

Just pick POP/SMTP and fill in your mail server, or a bogus one to get past the nanny screens.

Then you should be good.
