| I watched this the other night. I thought it was great. I recommend it to everyone. |

I agree with all the scenes you guys mentioned, and more. I thought Eric Bana was great - credible by not being over-done.
In the bike pump scene on the barge, I thought the old guy was the scariest dude of all. He was cold. The two younger guys were fumbling and unsure, on the verge of emotional. Then, he steps just forward and PHFFT! We have our own people out in the field right now, taking care of comparable business and then some. The film poses as a question for the audience - is it okay for a civilized society to "take care of business"? The Israeli prime minister (Golda Meir?) makes the statement, "Every civilized society finds it necessary to compromise its beliefs in the name of national security." So, is this true or false; a valid or invalid premise? I'm going to have to rent it again. It was good. |
