http://www.nydailynews.com/news/col/story/25635p-24192c.html. Everyone here expect AR15 and others to be judged next. I have been lurking at Snipershide and finally logged in there about 2 weeks ago. We need to support and defend them. This is part of what I posted there. Sorry I didnt see the post with the link to it..But I can't agree about registered topics. This my friend's is a FREE Country with Freedom of Speech and Knowledge. Just because some NUT is out their killing people in MD, does not make all of us like him. We in the whole Gun Community need to band and show That is not who we are. I am going to send Michael Daly an E-Mail. Nothing nasty but to let them know there is more to this site and others than wanting to kill human's here is the address |
| Well, I'd say that was inevitable. People are digging for clues just about everywhere, and are already trying to apply doses of preventive medicine. What Mr. Daly doesn't mention is that many, if not most, of the people he's quoting are true police or military professional snipers. Yeah, I think AR15.com will be next on their radar screen, so think before you post. |

Quoted: What Mr. Daly doesn't mention is that many, if not most, of the people he's quoting are true police or military professional snipers. Yeah, I occasionally read up over there, and you always see SWAT, and Marine Corps, and Army and cops over there. So yes Mr. Daly, they are talking about shooting people. Your taxes are paying them to do that. These are the people who you think should only have guns. |

What a freakin looser. People, this is a PERFECT example of why we need to be VERY careful what you post and how you post it. As some of us stated a few days ago, media folks ARE reading internet sites. If they are reading Snipercountry, rest assured they are reading here. Lets not give them anything that could be taken out of context, as is obvious that the writer of the above article likes to do. |

"The mow-'em-all-down daydreams that accompanied the now-banned assault rifles are as dated as Columbine. The new fantasy in the marketplace is of a single deadly shot fired from afar with a sniper rifle. The gun companies' motivation becomes clear in the Sniper Country site's chat area." Yawn… Sure, it's those evil gun companies again, FORCING me to spend money on their products. I don't know about you guys, but every time I buy a new gun I go outside and sit in the gun store parking lot crying my eyes out BECAUSE I JUST CAN'T RESIST THE ALLURE OF THOSE GODDAMN GUN COMPANIES!!! Just look at this tosser - he's got that smug, just-fucked-the-neighbor's-cat look down pretty pat: |

My email to the knucklehead: Nearly 100% of the posters at Snipercountry.com are Army, Marine, Law Enforcement, or have been in the service or law enforcement. Your tax dollars are paying for them to learn sniping tactics. Those are THE people you anti-gunners feel should be the only groups to have weapons. Do you think a Marine sniper should be skilled at killing people? What about the SWAT teams around Maryland? Wouldn't you want them to have the ability to kill that sick person murdering innocent people? And what about the Army? Do you think that maybe it would be better if they had honed skills while killing people in the war on terror? Or is your point that the public needs restraints on the 1st Amendment by not having the freedom to communicate? Which Constitutional Amendments should we keep? Which ones should we change whenever we feel like it? Or does the Constitution guarantee these freedoms? I borrowed a quote or two from this thread - hope nobody minds. |

I sent him the following email: I saw your article on sniping. Undoubtedly that information can be abused. But in a free society don't we permit lots of information to be published that can be abused, e.g., medical information, information on where people live, newspapers reporting classified information, or information about a sniper's modus operandi, or information that a sniper can use to avoid the police (like knowing that they've found his Death card or the caliber of his weapons)? How are martial arts, wrestling, target shooting, and other potentially dangerous activities different? What about a book on police investigative tactics? Or a book on military history? Sniping, "combat" shooting, etc. are interesting to people as purely hypothetical endeavors; amassing a skill that will never be used in practice. Not so different, really, from woodland survival schools, martial arts, or other challenging but esoteric endeavors. I'm surprised a journalist is so quick to not-so-subtly imply that it's time for censoring such academic and hypothetical internet discussions. |

My response to Mr Daley Mr. Daley, I have read your article in the DAILY NEWS on the information shared by shooters on sniper related web pages. As one who frequents these pages, I own many firearms. I have attended tactical shooting classes and am proud to say that the information gained from these endeavors has made me a finer marksman. I have increased my knowledge of firearms, tactics, ballistics, and my ability to judge distances. I have learned how wind, altitude, temperature and humidity affect each an every round that I fire, at any distance. This information has not made me a terrorist, or a killer. It has made me a more confident and competent marksman. I have owned and shot firearms all of my life. I own what is loosely called by the liberal press both assault rifles and sniper rifles. I learned to shoot in The Boy Scouts of America, and the United States Army taught me more about shooting, and the costs of freedom. You see Mr. Daley, the freedom that you so enjoy as you judge others and so proudly share with millions through the press, comes to you not through the lofty endeavors of the poet, the author, or the editor. Those freedoms were granted to you by brave men centuries ago who held rifles in their arms. The learned the art of the riflec from their fathers, their brothers, their neighbors and their friends. They shared this information in any way that they could because they knew that there wouyld be times in their lives when what they knew was important. Today is no different. We still learn to shoot from others, we learn fieldcraft, survival, and tactics from those who have been there, and know what it takes to be successful and survive. These are skills that some seem to think that we no longer need. We have smart bombs, laser guided, with pinpoint accuracy. We have cruise missiles, tactical nuclear weapons, billion dollar hardware that has taken the idea of war and conflict to a level that was previously unimaginable. Our military service learned in both the great wars, as well as in Korea and Viet Nam that the man with the rifle was indispensable. It was a lesson that unfortunately we had to learn over and over with each conflict, until the Army and Marines finally formed the Sniper training programs that they have today. The people that you are so critical of on many of these sniper websites are police officers, military personnel, active, reserve and retired. Patriots of all types who know that the skills and knowledge that they talk about and share with others are ones that we as a nation cannot afford to let slip away. We cannot afford to let them slip away because we know that in future conflicts, as we have learned in the past, that the wars will be won by one man, with his rifle. As it has been, and so it will be, over and over again. Our country kept safe and secure by a marksman. The same marksman who over two hundred years ago secured for you the freedom of speech, and has allowed you to publish your mind, without fear of reprisal or censure. This is the man that many of us hold in a place of honor, and without which our world would be a very, very different place. Dennis Muldrew |

Quoted: Oh, and I've been writing to a lot of these anti-gunners lately. Have I heard one peep from them? NOPE! Has ANYONE gotten a response? I'll bet not. I guess its safe to say you cannot effectively argue the truth. They won't reply, they will try to ignore you. But when their bosses have to deal with a bulging E-mail server they take note. |

What I wrote this..... hole: I certainly hope all the people who read your article went over to that site, just as I did. If they do, they will realize that those are just a bunch of conservative guys, many of which were in the military, having protecting the very freedom you use criticize them. Until these recent horrible shootings in the DC area, there has been no problem of “sniper fire” in our country; if these guys had intentions of sniping people, we would have a lot worse problem on our hands. The truth is that these are probably the most law abiding citizens you will com across. You just don’t understand them, and fear their hobby so you chose to demonize them. If you’ve read that site to the extent that I did, you would realize that those guys are just your friendly neighbors, and do their shooting at paper targets, they are not a danger to society. I am a former Marine myself, and the slogans you seen on that website came right out of the military, do you consider the military evil? You gun control-freaks are constantly looking in the wrong direction to prevent crime. I have a wonderful idea for anew crime bill: that we ban knives, baseball bats, knives, cars, trucks, suv’s, any blunt objects, etc……we should also ban any food containing fat and grease such as cheeseburgers, pizza, etc……we should also ban penises, one could rape someone with a penis; I vote we remove all penises from birth, will you be the first in line? My real idea for a crime bill is to enforce and strengthen the laws that we do have. Such as if you do kill someone, you stay in prison from 30yrs (absolute minimum) or until you die; if you rape/molest someone, you should get the same sentence; if you rob or mug someone, you should get at the very least 20 yrs. There should be no such thing as a second, third, or even a fourth time murder/rapist getting caught having committed yet another crime. They might make things right with the Lord Almighty, but that’s between Him and the criminals. And by all means prison should be a horrible place, as to deter people from committing such crimes in the first place. I think you owe those people an apology. |
