The Wound Channel? I've been watching a bunch of your reviews lately. Good stuff, it's been educational. I'd love to see a video breaking down what did well and what didn't. A 2017 armor buyer's guide kind of thing. Thanks for your work, I enjoy it. |

It was loud af with the brake on the gun. I don't own a 50 BMG. Are you trying to make a joke about 300blk? If so 1/10 ![]() Quoted:

Could you show me 2-3 reasons of x39 going through Level IV ceramic plates please? Quoted:

That's not true at all, not when 2-3 rounds of 7.62x39 FMJ can go through a Level IV plate. |

Do any of you know a reputable place to buy ceramic plates for a good price?
I want to get a simple plate carrier setup. Last time I priced it, it came out to something like $1k. Also, are side plates a good idea or just front and back? Sorry for thread hijack but you seem to know a little about armor

Did the rate of fire actual contribute to the rounds going through, or was just the fun method to do it? I couldn't get the MG to my normal range, and I couldn't secure the plate the way I wanted to and shoot from behind cover at this range or I would have cut it in half. I still might try to put a bumpfire stock on an M249S and cut another one in half |

Sorry for thread hijack but you seem to know a little about armor ![]() I wouldn't recommend hard side plates for a SHTF rig, kevlar wouldn't be a bad idea there since the weight and mobility impact are small. The question you have to answer is do you really need Level IV protection (30-06 Armor Piercing) or is stopping 5.56, 7.62x39, .308 etc enough? If you are ok with just the intermediate rounds you can get a lighter plate, but the 4SAS7 is incredibly hard to beat for the money. Especially when it's on sale. If you don't find a coupon code let me know Highcom has given me them in the past I can probably get one for you. |

No that's a legit ceramic Level IV plate. I tested those against other rounds, they are a tad heavy but as tough as any other Level IV plate. |

I wish my memory was better but wasn't there an issue with those plates. Not actually nij06 certified, or made in China, or something? |

There is certainly something wrong if NIJ Level IV Ceramic is getting 2nd shot penetrations from x39 at 25 yards. That one posted video is not indicative of what NIJ Level IV ceramic plates are rated to stop. Level IV plates are rated for 1 shot. If you hit them twice close-ish to each other you can have rounds go through, that is the nature of having a ceramic strike face that shatters. |
