does this go down every year?  I think I want to go to this.

How much money in ammo do you think was burned up here?

Happens twice a year.

And there are more of them than just that one going on around the country.

I haven't seen footage of one that looks that fun though.

why so many tracers at a 45 degree angle?

The line at KCR is really not very big.  Tiny, in fact.

The night shoot is fun, but I go for the gun show.  Need a nut for the bolt that holds the water cap on a MG08?  You can find one there.

Skipping off the ground into the air.

Don't you ever watch the "Outdoor Channel"?  I think Michael Bane has a show at Knob Creek every year.

This.

the rental fees on most of the machine guns are pretty ridiculous (like $45- $60 for one 30 rd mag through an uzi or AK) but the gunshow is one of the best I've ever seen.

I have been going to Knob Creek since they used to throw rocks at the automobiles.
It is woodstock for gun nuts, and they send hundreds of thousands of dollars down range
if it is not in the million$.

I went to Knob Creek 3 times while I lived in KY.  It's an interesting shoot, and the gun show is great.  This was back in 2002-3, wish I'd bought a browning 1919 then - they were selling for $8k if you could pay cash.  The night shoot is cool, back then the machine gun rentals weren't too bad - like $25 for a 30 round mag, $40 to run a 50 round belt through a GPMG.  Buddy I went with once rented a flamethrower, a little too dangerous for me though.  The night shoot was cool, and a guy had a minigun setup one time.
Worth a trip.

Me too, nothing like waking up to the report of 20mm followed by that guys howitzer followed by two 10 second strings from the miniguns.  It was like man heaven!

I attend this event every couple years, if you've never been, by all means go! Second weekend in April, second week in October. Just off route 44 near Westpoint (east fo Fort Knox) in Bullet county KY. As you walk in it sounds like a hard rain on a tin roof! If you want to shoot any full auto small arms (at the small arms range) it will run you around $40.00 per clip. The night shoot is the main event of the day, better than any special effects you've ever seen in any action flick. Be advised though, they don't let anybody up on the roof of the range building to view the shoot.  This put you above the firing line and allowed a better view of what was happening downrange, now you have to stand at ground level behind a fence behind the shooters and maybe one or two rows of spectators. Anyway by all means GO!

Not usually. A lot of times its just the tracer pellet breaking off when the bullet hits.

It is.  It's called the Big Sandy Shoot.  From what I have heard on other boards, lots of FA enthusiasts are not happy with the way things are being run at KCR.

Big Sandy seems to get bigger every year.

As some say, the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

As others say, one fast way to turn money into smoke and noise.

I got hooked up and spent 3 days on the main line a couple of years ago. If you want to shoot machine guns go to your local shoot. There are a couple here near me.   The creek gun show is great
