While being lazy this afternoon dooing my best immitation of a mushroom on the couch,I happened accross the movie Mad Max on the tube.It had been years since I watched it so ........why not. This was a version I had never seen too.UN-DUBED! The voices were completly different, not as deep and total Aussie accent but easier to watch. It also had better sounding bikes too.I always liked Toe-cutters gangs ols Kaws and Gooses Z1R 1000.It had a couple of shots that I didnt remember from the dubbed version. Its still pretty lame-o by todays standards but for an old low budget flick it kicks ass.I find myself wanting to go rent The Road Warrior now............wonder if Hollyweird will ever do a re-make? Maybye a post apocallyptic combo of the first two with better rides and more guns....Id watch it. |

They put that version out on DVD awhile back. When they went to release the film in the U.S. the Hollywerid suits were worried that the "weird" accents would confuse and turn off American viewers, hence the dub. IT SUCKED. Especially when people saw the film AFTER they knew what Mel REALLY sounded like. Took YEARS for the original version to make it to DVD. |
