Last summer I got serious about securing my homes valuables.
I have a slab mounted safe.
I have a steel footlocker I keep bulk ammo in.
My mags however were out on shelves....

Now at this time mags were $5 ea, and pmags were $10. My PSL mags had been $25, but they sell for $35-50 now.

In short. Figure out a way to lock down you mags and ammo from petty thieves.

Harden your storage.

I built the above and secured it to the wall and floor .

Ammo cans can be locked by putting a large nut on under the locking tab. Put in so it slips between the compression clasp slats.

Walmart has inexpensive green metal security cabinets $85-115. They work too.

I like the idea behind what you did. However I really doubt those locks, especially the smaller two would hold up to a hammer, much less a crowbar or sledge.

Yep. Plus.......maybe folks demonstrating and talking about more secure storage on their own might be a not so bad notion.

with locks you know its got to be the good stuff! and about 30 seconds with a military entrenching tool is all id need to pop open those cans..

That's what those cheaper Stack-On safes are good for. Not for guns but for ammo and magazines.

The trouble today with inflation is that ammo and magazines are becoming gold.

Hiding stuff is better than locking stuff up.

You can make or buy wall cavity cabinets that hide behind mirrors or other objects.

If they don't know to look for what you have hidden they won't find your stuff.

Those locks were what I had on hand at the time. They are improved now.

Some of y'all are sporks. Good fer nuthing but staining a good shirt.

The point of this is: get off your ass and lock your sh$# up.

Could always pry back some of that paneling and store them behind there.

If you don't believe what we're saying about the locks, try smacking one with a sledge a few times, see how it goes.
