How often do you or your SO make the bed?
As a kid my parents made me make my bed, had to do it in the .mil too. Now I never do it. When I was single I'd only do it if I my place got so messy I'd go into a cleaning frenzy. Or when something would happen like pulling a girl back from the bar who was on the rag on, forcing me to wash my sheets the next day. Now that I'm in a relationship the bed is still never made. The gf will make the bed in the occasional cleaning frenzy or when guests come over. Honestly, I kinda prefer it not made since when it is I gotta throw off like 5 pillows and the top blanket anyways. So I'm glad its never made, but I'm curious about how often others make their beds. |
The wife and I almost never make the bed. The only times it happens really are when we have guests, or if we clean. We do wash the linens every week or two. We have this giant collection of pillows that go on top of it that just sit in a pile on the floor because the bed is never made. ![]() |
| I never "make" the bed. My wife leaves the house just before I get up. We straighten the bed before we get in it at night - pull the sheets tight and fluff the pillows. It usually gets made on the weekends (by her) when we get up at the same time. She accepts the fact that I will not make the bed. |

I refuse to make the bed.
1. No one besides me and her will see it... 2. I'm just going to mess it up again anyway... 3. I refuse to put 30 pillows on the bed so it will 'look nice' refer to #1 4. i hate having the foot of the sheet tucked in...which she does anyway and i pull it out every night when i get into bed She makes the bed every day. Or used to....there has been a few days lately where she doesn't. If she wants to make it, i have no problem with that. It makes her happy, and so long as she doesn't expect me to do it, more power to her. |

When I was single living the college life, I made the bed everyday. You never know when you'll bring someone home and need someplace to rest. Plus I almost never had to leave the house before 9 or 10 am.
Now that I am married I will throw the covers back, so with the comforter, it looks made. |

Quoted:
Are you asking about making the bed or changing the sheets. You seem to think they're one and the same. Not exactly. For me making the bed just means making the bed, as in just tucking the sheets in, making it look nice and what not. Whenever I change/clean the sheets though, I never just throw them on, I will put them on and tidy it up. So changing the sheets involves making the bed, but making the bed does not involve changing the sheets. |
