When does it cross the line from regular grooming to primping and preening?

Spend more time getting ready than your special lady friend?

Have more "product" in your bathroom than your girl?

If your pubes are "high and tight", you're a poseur.

You should take pride in everything, including your appearance.  Lack of care is not a sign of manliness, imo.

That being the case, I do work out regularly, tan, trim, shave, pluck, wax and moisturize.  There's no placid, sallow white skin or beer guts here.

lack of care may not be a sign of manliness, but its much less a sign of womanliness than all that mess

Out of morbid curiosity, when did the opinion of other men start to become important when it comes to grooming? Aside from the normal hygiene type. (shit, shower, shave, brush and bar)

I voted "I cut my hair and that's it" however, if my wife wants my "personal grooming" to be more than it currently is, I'll be happy to oblige. That goes both ways, she's happy to do things I ask.

Why would I give a moment's thought to what other people, who don't share a bed with me, think?

Not really. When I'm bored I read or draw or something. I couldn't possibly care less what anyone is doing with their nether regions.

I shower once every 3 days or as soon as I get "sufficiently dirty", I shave once a month, I haven't used "hair product" for over 10 years, I do wear cologne when I'm going to be interacting with the general public. Also I don't pick my clothes I wear jeans and a black T-shirt with no words, letters, or symbols on it. For a family party I will wear a brown or olive drab t-shirt. I keep my hair in check when it gets close to my ears I do a very tall high and tight, probably the highest and tightest you have ever seen, I've been asked to quote AR 670-1 quite a few times.

And i noticed the caliber of women that approached me before I transitioned into man are horrible compared to what I could get now, its because women don't want a metro prissy that they are going to have to share the bathroom with they want a Man. The GIRLS that do want a metro BOY are going to be immature and hard to deal with.

This......plus deodorant. I can also understand shaving a very hairy back I guess.

As to those that take it further like chest and ball sack shaving all I can say is: Stay gay my friend.

Razors are for the face - maybe the head.

Trimming is normal, and expected.

When you get to the point of "preening" I think you have issues.

Surely not saying that a white man who doesn't tan is not taking pride in his appearance. I think it's just the opposite.

I tan to even out my skin tone, I have bad skin thanks to genetics. Without it, I get splotchy, and my acne scarring tends to stand out otherwise.

165lbs, ~6'2", body fat impedance tests put me below %5 body fat, flat barbell benching 235lbs (several times), running several miles without issue, I think I am doing fine, thanks.  Short of steroids, I'll never hit 190lbs (Hell, 180lbs will even be a challenge) with my body type.

i shave the face and ensure the eyebrows remain as two separate entities. i do not however shape the eyebrows. if one should have a hair that is longer than the others and seems out of place, it will likely fall out soon, thats what eyebrow and eyelashes do....i also have a device dedicated to ensuring nose hairs do not show themselves in public as well.

i must admit however that i do put lotion on my elbows a few times a week. but its Nivea for men and endorsed by some big athletic guy in the commercials so its not ghey..........

Walk down the street and find 5 people that are in as good as shape as I am for my weight.

I have a lot to improve (I very often frequent our Self-Defense/Fitness forum, as well as others) but I'm far from "needing to work out more." If you can find a way to fit more days in a week I'd be happy to do just that but sadly 7 is all God gave us.
