Jasmine Rand is currently an associate attorney and the head of the firm’s Civil Rights Department. Her evolving practice focuses on police brutality and misconduct, rape, wrongful death, and complex personal injury. Jasmine is admitted to practice in the state of Florida, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida.
Jasmine graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies, and a minor in Spanish. Prior to law school, Jasmine worked as a bilingual international union organizer throughout the United States and Canada, and she was also employed with Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s litigation department in Atlanta, Georgia.
While attending Florida State University College of Law (FSU), the Mock Trial Team, she and her partner placed first in FSU’s 2008 Intramural Competition. Jasmine also graded onto the Business Review Journal and edited legal publications. An active member of the Black Law Students Association, Jasmine won the Outstanding Member of the Year Award in 2007, served as Member at Large in 2008, and helped establish an undergraduate chapter to assist students applying to law school. Jasmine founded and served as President of Alternative Breaks, an organization in which students volunteer their Spring Break to partner with pro-bono legal services organizations and provide low income individuals with free legal services. In 2008, Jasmine interned at the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Immigrant Justice Project to work on human trafficking cases and immigrant justice issues. For her commitment to serving underprivileged communities, Jasmine graduated with a Distinguished Pro Bono Service Certificate.
