Ie, in the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun".
First of all, did you get that line where Scaramanga, after offing Andrea and meeting Bond, says, "Forget the girl; she's replaceable."........and then replaces her by dumping Goodnight in the trunk? But then there is the other aspect of the movie spy world where one might be captured and not killed, not really imprisoned (as 007 was in DAD), but their life turned into something else. An aspect that we usually don't see in the movies.....but it's there. It happens occasionally. In "True Lies", they use Arnold for a moment to confirm in the tape of what they had possession of. In OHMSS, Blofield tells Bond that he will keep him around in case he is needed to convince the world leaders that the threat is real. In La Femme Nikita, "Charity", the fiend says that he will sell Nikita into white slavery. So then we come back to Goodnight. Captured, to be used as bait to draw Bond in, and then once Bond is offed, she should get ready to be Scaramanga's new mistress. Granted, the same fate faced Tracey in OHMSS but the difference is that Tracey was not a spy while Goodnight is. So, stay the spy........................or accept one's fate? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ (As the Chief goes down his list of available agents, "Smithers, now he's a good man. Where is he? Bhutan? What's he doing in Bhutan? Oh, he's a prisoner...............Well, at least he's on the job!", (w,stte), "Get Smart") |

I'm almost certain I saw something analogous in season 3 of "My Little Pony," but Hell if I can remember the specifics. I think a pink one was enticed to live a life of luxury with castrated stable-boys and cocaine troughs, but she first had to lure a blue one in for the kill with cries for help. He was a traitorous drug mule or something, no pun intended. This was my face after both that episode and your post. |

Quoted:
That would be up to goodnight. She says as Bond arrives at the Island..."I could stay here forever"...Lending creedence that she would have accepted her fate. I think Bond was more after retrieving the Solex, then Goodnight. WELL, considering how 007 had treated her................................... ................................who could blame her? Besides, Scaramanga obviously had a fatter wallet. ___________________________________________________________________________________________ ("Goodnight, would I do that to you after all these years?"--007 "Yes! YOU BLOODY WELL WOULD!", (w,stte), "The Man With The Golden Gun") |
