Used to make these a million years ago with paper matches, pin to form the tube, launched off a bent paperclip.

Great fun.

http://    only on the url

Your URL had both

http://   (added by ar15 on popup)
AND
https://   (added by you on paste)

Just clear any pre-added http:// info and make sure the S is gone

Same here...then have wars with them.

The secret was the angle and "nozzle" design created by the pin hole. We'd line up 20 at a time and hit them with a propane torch flame. Little smoke trails crisscrossing everywhere. Lucky we never burned the house down.

If you put a bunch of match heads in one would it just explode or act as stages of the rocket?

When I was a kid I made these rockets from the pin/foil/match stick with paper clip launcher technique.  These look to work way better as I never got the distance they have in the video nor the smoke trail.  Now a two stage rocket would be quite the feat.

Did this a few weeks ago with my son.  Lessons in expanding gasses, it's still as much fun as it was when I was a kid.

Well, those are a lot cooler than the ones I did with the cub scout den.

Will have to try them with boy scouts.
