I want to build a house on a lot that faces South. The lot is located at approximately 35 degrees latitude. I want the winter sun to strike the home all the way to the foundation on the south facing wall.  There is a hill 1200' south that rises 200' above grade.  Will the sun be blocked by the hill in winter?

If there is not enough info here to solve it let me know.

Blow up the hill regardless, makes for a fun Sunday afternoon.

It will make a perfect bullet catcher

The days of the year are pretty short right now still, go stake it out.

This could work but I don't have time to stay out there from 9-3 to monitor shadows

Rename the hill "the berm" and use it as a bullet-catcher!
