owned my ford, not surprised.... no, they arent. they had a partnership with ford up to 2010. they owned up to 1/3 of the companys stock which still is not 'ownership' in GD math.
The 626 and the later model of the Mazda 6 are mostly Ford parts an drive trains. The cars were built on the same assembly line as the Ford probe and the Ford Contuour. Those cars are junk. The 626 was a great car made by Mazda in Japan until 92 after that They were U.S. made. The Protege was a great car made in Japan till 2003.5 then the Mazda 3 came and it is the same as the Focus and Volvo s40 platform. The Miata is the finest Mazda ever made but only till They killed the DOHC 2.0 and put the Ford motor in it around 2005. |

It's all the same and it still sucks. Ford sticker, Mazda sticker, same junk underneath. Edit. Beat by 30. |

Allow me to "clarify"... Mazdas are BUILT by Ford, not surprised. |

Is there any difference whatsoever between the Rangers and the Mazda B-whatevers? The grill, fenders, and bumper on the late years. Oh and the warranty, the Ford was 3yr/ 36k and the Mazda was 4yr/ 50k bumper to bumper at that time. The 93 and up truck was fully Ford. The only Real Mazda truck is the 92 and down B2000 and B2200 The B2600i was a Mitsubishi engine, while not junk completely it was never as good as the smaller Mazda engine. |

I bought an 08 Mazda 5, and it's a nice ride, no problems. It's like a mini minivan that drives like a sort of sporty car. How many engine mounts and air filter box clips? I have the same car. Hatchback. I had passenger side mount replaced free at dealership. Known issue for these cars. There is a updated version of the mount. I have had no issues with my air filter box clips. Perhaps because I unlatched them the correct way? So far it's been a good car and easy to work on. Currently have 65k on it. |

2007? You realize that thing is six years old, don't you? What do you have, like 100,000 miles on it? They don't last forever. He wants cars to be cheaper and cheaper, while he expects them to last longer and longer. It's the typical mindset with the American consumer. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

All of you need an education. Mazda is no longer with Ford now. They are currently still sharing most of the drivetrains for the 3 and 6 2012 Mazda 3 http://image.motortrend.com/f/photo_gallery/sedans/1112_2012_mazda6_photo_gallery/34954469/2012-mazda6-engine-parts.jpg 2012 Ford Focus http://image.motortrend.com/f/roadtests/sedans/1208_40_mpg_compact_sedan_comparison/38485951/2012-Ford-Focus-SFE-engine.jpg The current 3 shares it's platform with the 2nd gen Euro focus, but it is gone after this year. (All new, all Mazda 3 for next year). The newest gen 6 is all Mazda. |

Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile Maybe he wants newer cars to not suck as much as they do. My 67 Land Rover only has one 'clip' holding the oil bath air cleaner on- and it's metal and still works. Original engine mounts too. Of course, it's slower, louder, less safe, uncomfortable, leaks fluids I don't even remember putting in it. |

2007 Mazda 6: Three engine mounts, one of which failed.
Two air filter clips, one of which broke off.
If they could have gotten away with three wheels, they would have done it: 3 engine mounts is pretty common on FWD arrangement. How many clips do you want? <- 2007 Mazdaspeed3, 95k mi and not a single issue. |

For all the Ford haters, my 87 Ranger and my FIL 65 Mustang seem to be running fine with original drivetrains. My wife's 99 Escort ZX2 was her first car and is still with us getting ridden hard and put back wet with 35 MPG. My 07 Escape I did have had to change the waterpump on. |

Someone put the engine in sideways! mm |

Is there a single car mfg out there that people here don't think sucks? ![]() Probably not. Mazda just sucks more for me because this car has been having a lot of problems lately. This year I have had to replace a CV shaft, engine mount, and electrical module. The air cleaner clip missing was the icing on the cake. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I find it amazing how much better the finish of cars made after the 80's look once clear coat was in common use, compared to what new car paint looked like back then. Not to mention the wide flat spots on cars that showed any flex or dent like a magnifying glass. Happy to see the slab sides/roofs gone as well. Still remember buffing the chalk off non-clear coat paint for hours per month to keep a finish looking "OK" compared to what a decent paint job today looks like after simply washing it. |
