Ok, I have a 2007 Chevy uplander van with 114K miles that I just purchased from a dealer to use as a light cargo van. I've had it for about 6 days now, and put just over 125 miles on her. Since then, I've noticed that when I'm taking off from a stop position, that the engine will race for a split second, and then the trany will engage rather abruptly. It feels like the front tires are spinning on ice, and then they catch and take off, that's the best way I can describe the problem. I also have a second problem where the rear end in quite noisy when going over bumps, like a slight clunking noise. could this be worn out rear shocks?
So what do you guys think I'm looking at as far as problems go. ( Please, no wise cracks ) And I will be calling the dealer tomorrow AM |

Tranny is slipping.
shocks/ shock mounts. ETA: get a local, solid and reliable mechanic to diagnose and possibly repair. Good Lord only knows how much a dealer might want for these repairs. You might want to cut your loses ASAP in a worst case scenerio (new tranny/ rebuild). You can try and drain and refill with new ATF on your own and see if that helps the slippage. |
