We had a thread like this a few months back. Since then, I've discovered some new bands. Yeah, we all know Iron Maiden and Megadeth (two of my favorites) but how many of you know of Slough Feg?

So, here's some songs by mostly lesser known metal bands with clean vox. Enjoy.

Killer female fronted metal band, guitatr style similar to Iron Maiden.

I dig Angra too, solid Brazillian power metal.

Slough Feg has pretty much instantly become one of my favorite bands of all time:

Based on the book The Stars My Destination. This is one of the best songs ever written IMO.

Holy crap, I used to love Traveller. I wish someone would do a decent PC adaptation of it.

And of course, what is a metal with clean vocals thread without some Iced Earth (Barlow days, mainly, because Barlow *is* Iced Earth to me)

It's not bad.

The new vocalist is Stu Block from Into Eternity.  It's not old school Iced Earth, but it's nothing like some of the stuff they put out in the past few years.

Here's a sample, compare it against the old Dante's Inferno.  I didn't like it at first but it grew on me.

I really only like clean vocalled metal.  I got no time or use for cookie monster vocalists.

In the classic vein

Savatage
Crimson Glory
Maiden
Priest
QR
Sanctuary (back when Warrel Dane could sing)

You know, I absolutely love clean vocal metal, but I have a huge selection of harsh vocal metal too...just depends on the mood for me.

Also, Iron Maiden is the greatest band ever in the history of music. Up the Irons!!

You and I have a different definition of 'clean' vocals.

This is a crew of young dudes from Ontario.  This song is one of their softer ones, but shows you how good his voice is, shades of Barlow.  These guys have some real potential!

I guess so. Everything I've posted so far is clean, not sure how you'd say it's not.

That's cool, I like quite a bit of that stuff too. Doesn't mean anything I've posted doesn't have clean vocals.

In fact, quite a few of the bands in the OP are power metal bands.

I'm diging it!  The music of the 1st with the singer of the 3rd would be fantastic.  But very bad news for the tinnitus.

Sweet...I'm going to see Eluveitie and Children of Bodom next month....pretty stoked about seeing Eluveitie! I'll have to keep my eyes open for Overkill.

There's also a rumor that Iron Maiden might do a short tour in the US this year...I'm going to take the kids if that's true. I can't wait.

I HATE cookie monster metal with a passion.

I'm more old school... being raised with bands like Maiden, Priest, Queensryche, and Dream Theater as my faves.

Without question... my favorite metal band of the past decade is Kamelot.

Did someone ask for more sci-fi nerd metal? No? too bad, here it is anyways.

ETA- yes I know it's SUPER cheesy. Don't care.

Based on the novel Hyperion- an excellent read.
