I just received my new 2014 model Microtech Troodon and noticed a few things/questions
1) Why is the Troodon more expensive than the Ultratech? $200 vs $300 2) I didn't get a sheath, just a polish bag.... did they discontinue the sheath? 3) There isn't any F or R on the deployment button, did they change that too? 4) The blade steel is suppose to be Elmax but the blade doesn't have any markings on it (but the handle is dated 01/2014) 5) How is elmax steel? 1. Troodon handle is shaped differently and is more complex to machine than the straight lines of the Ultratech. They are similar in size though.
2. yes 3. yes, not all models have this 4. Strange. I haven't seen any recent production Microtechs not marked with the steel on the blade. 5. ELMAX is an outstanding blade steel |
