Never saw an older (for the time) bomber perform that maneuver, thanks.

I think it was Stacy Keach.

They also used this delivery method for the F-105 and even tried it with a Skyraider.

Perrin AFB in Sherman-Denison was a HUGE ADC training base. My Dad flew F-102s outta Perrin as a Danish exchange officer in October 1962.

They closed the base in 1972.  It is still quite active as Texoma Regional Airport.  Lots of interesting aircraft home there and are in and out.   The CAF does lots of training there so there is never a shortage of Warbirds

1955-1965 is my favorite era of aviation due to the rapid pace of technology and just how many aircraft were made. Unfortunately there were plenty that would have been perfectly fine planes if only engines matched their airframes. When you consider how many planes were designed, flew, were accepted and left service in half the time it took for the F-35 test program it was amazing the pace of things.
I think it’s too bad planes like the Cutlass and Demon just didn’t have the engines that were promised but the biggest heartbreak to me if that the Convair Tradewind didn’t survive long enough to get the same engines the C-130 and Electra did, that would have been amazing

I know exactly what you mean. Here, let's do another one practically no one has heard of: McDonnell FH Phantom (namesake of the F-4, which is actually the Phantom II), project inception 1943, first flight 1945, entered service 1947, retired from frontline service 1949

  Almost completely unknown post-war fighters.

My favorite era was the mix of how many types were operating in those gorgeous paint schemes. The post war period was neat but the lack of anything but gloss sea blue makes it a bit dull to the point most can’t tell a Phantom,Banshee and Panther apart.

There's a little bitty roller skate tail wheel to protect the exhaust, stays up when dragging ass on takeoff and drops down like the tail hook to cushion landings.

The SAAB Draken also has tail wheels.

And numerous F-15 pilots need tail wheels.

A lot of the TAC strike aircraft had LABS - Toss Bomb Computers even back in the 50's.  F-84, F-100, F101, F-105, F-4, F-104

Richard Bach (author who wrote the best seller "Jonathan Livingston Seagull") was a F-84 pilot in Germany who was on alert with a nuke underneath in a crisis with the understanding that if the Claxon went off, it was a TOAD mission.

Bundeswehr finally retires the last of their UH-1D Hueys which they have operated from 1968, moving to Airbus H145 in SAR-units. Once again worth noting there is still a requirement for ~80 new light helicopters to fully address the loss of old types retired from service

Rolling dive behind the ridge with wings back, pop up over and nose down head on, clip some grass, turning climb shows off wing rotation.

After that is a rare (and brief) strafing run filmed from the ground at close range.
