| I've got a buddy with a college degree who's looking at joining the Army in this field. I'm trying to talk him into going officer, but I'm not positive what he wants exactly. If anybody has been in MI, would you please send me a message with some info, or post here, it would be greatly appreciated. |

ETA: But if you/buddy want MI the only surefire way to get it is to enlist. Also junior MI officers are not normally in billets that perform the grunt work in MI (collectors, analysts) they are in the leadership business like all officers. Some are and quite a few lead fusion cells or platoons that do the job but the actual work is done by enlisted personnel. As you progress as an officer in the field you may have certain opportunities open up to you, but be prepared to not make LTC or COL and its mainly on the HUMINT and CI side. |
