I know this is an odd question but looking a some pictures in another post (http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=180972) I got to wondering if US soldiers wear any form of ear protection during gun battles? I'd think that between the shooting and all other ordnance it would be reccomended but then again it does obviously limit hearing. I'm sure you guys know. |
| sort of depends on the mission, when wed go to the tire house, or mout sites riflemen usually wouldnt wear any, machine gunners, AGs, SAW gunners, 50-50 depends on the soldier. For Live fires, i always wore one earplug in my firing ear. Again, it depends on METT-T, and of course, your chain of command on what you wear on a mission. I think youd find that 11M soldiers wear more earplugs than 11B (Mech vs Leg), Ive been both, and the 25mm on a Bradley is pretty doggone loud. |
