Are all Mini-14 GB's preban (specifically blued)?  If not, what is the serial number break for pre versus post?

Thanks,
Bradd

The serial number cutoff for Mini 14' s that I have goes through 1993.
Mini-14 - 188-66901
Ranch - 189-52528
If yours says GB on it and there is no LEO stamping - then you should be ok - provided the srial number falls below the 188-66901.  Otherwise it could be a parts gun - I have seen those.
Is this the rifle I saw posted on Gunbroker or Auction Arms?  Going to the Eastman Show this weekend?

Howdy

I own a GB model and the stamp does not state GB. If you call ruger up, they will tell you free of charge the date of manufacture and model. THey told me it is a GB, but the rifle is just not stamped GB. I don't believe they are stamped. THe post ban GB's are marked for LEO only though.

Be very careful, and call Ruger to verify.  For about the first six months following the ban, there was NO REQUIREMENT for manufacturers to mark their weapons "LE, Gov't, or Military use/export only".  This was a Treasury mandate that came several months after the ban.  I have seen several LEO Colts, and about 20 Ruger GB's that are postban LEO weapons that don't have the markings.  I own two personally, and my agency has a bunch of them in service.

What Doorgunner said. You can't go by serial numbers alone. GB's are worth enough money that you now have to call Ruger to be sure.
