And now she is the new Miss USA: Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on the Las Vegas Strip after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions. When asked how she felt about winning the crown, she said, “Ask me after I’ve had a pizza.” Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she made it without a spill and went on to win. During the interview portion, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should because it’s costly. “I believe that birth control is just like every other medication even though it’s a controlled substance,” Fakih said. Imagine if those words had come out of the mouth of Carrie Prejean or Sarah Palin. Between the NYTimes, MSNBC, Jon Stewart, and the late night talkers, we wouldn’t hear the end of it. Does this woman know what a “controlled substance” is? More importantly: Does she even comprehend the concept of insurance? The purpose of insurance isn’t to cover every last medical expense. I saw a few clips of it on TV, those girls try to act so proper and perfects that is makes them screw up their answer and sound stupid.
I would like to see some southern girl walk up there and just set the record straight without being politically correct or 'proper'. |

Guys - this wasn't Miss America. Miss America is no longer televised. This was Miss USA - Trump's pageant. I've been around the industry for a long time - you never, ever answer an interview question with a political answer, regardless of the side. They are looking for them to think quickly and come up with something coherent. The winner got lucky that evidently none of the judges knew what a "controlled substance" was. And a big WTF on "should insurance companies cover birth control"? What kind of cheap-ass insurance company doesn't cover birth control?

So last year they had a homosexual guy ask a homosexual-political question to Carrie Prejorean - which got her eliminated because of her states-rights Non-Liberal political answer. Now this year they have a Hispanic guy ask a Hispanic-political question to Miss Oklahoma - which gets her eliminated because of HER states-rights Non-Liberal political answer. No. The morning-after pill or "emergency contraception" is the method that allows fertilization, but prevents implantation (at least in theory... they're not 100% sure). Regular birth control works by preventing ovulation. Take it from a "hyper religious whackjob."

Miss Oklahoma gave a perfectly acceptable, honest answer (and one I agree with) and it's pretty clear she was fucked over
The Michigan chick was cute, but not even in the same class as Miss Oklahoma and some of the others. This was clearly a Muslim feel good day, done for PC and to make the Muslims feel happy, happy. Which, BTW, is just the opposite of how the hard core Muslims feel. They would consider her a whore for dressing that way.
