Weird... it say Playboy owes me under $100 at an address I only lived at when I was 1-4 years old

It does work. It's not a scam. I've used it.

That said, it's pretty unlikely you are going to get rich from of it. I think a few hundred is pretty standard. Mine was.

My wife had gotten like $20 that was owed to her by Ford a few years back.

We have no idea what it was for, or why it was still owed to her since it listed our current address, but we filed and received it.

It does. I tracked down about $600 that my brother in law forgot about. He was happy about that.

Each state has its own website.  No fees to get your money, just google it.

I had 45 buckaroos waiting for me.  Made the claim in July, got a check in October.

It's all good.

I got some old insurance refund money back last year and now I have an old payroll check that was lost 23 years ago coming my way.

Says Wells Fargo owes me <$100. Never had a relationship with them until a few months ago and our mortgage was sold to them. I think it's just an escrow balance difference. I don't even have a checking, savings, or credit card with them.

My names on their for less than a buck. Figured fuck it Im getting my pennies so tried to apply for it and was notified I needed a piece of mail from the address from my very first apartment. Yeah,ok, like 19 year old me kept anything like that.

I check this periodically and always find family members in there. I found a ton of items in there for my dad a few years ago that didn't list any dollar amounts and after sending him to multiple places getting documents notarized, he got a couple thousand bucks. I finally found myself in there in 2014 and after taking time off work to get stuff notarized, I received a check for a really small amount, I don't remember what it was but I remember it was less than the cost of gas I used to go get it, so probably like $12.00 or so.

I had $132 owed to me by a previous landlord.  The money was held by the state of NH.  I had to prove I lived at an address 16 years ago.

I wracked my brains and then it hit me:  Tax return.  I sent the first page in which had my address and date on it.

Each state maintains a database of unclaimed money and property.  Best to goto the source and not give some commercial website your info.

Use your state's site.  I was owed approximately $950 from two separate accounts.  Not a scam.

I found my name in the city paper a few years ago on a list of unclaimed property. That was a real surprise. The other real surprise came when I found out what it was.....$17k from my last jobs 401k. I moved and forgot all about it and the bank couldn't get ahold of me. There was a great feeling of relief/stupidity when I got it back.

So I guess I have to contact the Ins company it lists.

It looks like Aetna owes me something over $300.  I filed a claim but apparently I need to provide some kind of proof that they do? Or am I not reading it right?  there were 3 claims each over $100 and at the same address I live at now.

I found an Insurance refund in one state and a deposit from an alarm system I never
Had installed at a property in another.

Monies were 7 and 5 years left behind at the time I collected them

How the hell did you know I was just thinking about this yesterday?  I didn't remember where I had heard about this and didn't know where to look but remembered I had looked and knew I was owed some money.

$168!

Thank you OP!  Nice birthday present that I won't get for 6 months.

It's legit, i have a couple hundred on there from an old credit union account that i've never claimed.

But the most interesting/disturbing thing I found is that the Treasurer of the Great State of Alabama is named...............

.........wait for it.............................

Young Boozer.

1- dude's white.
2- dude ain't even a rapper.
3- dude's 68 years old.
4- dude's an Episcopalian so I guarantee you he's a tea-totaler.

Can't have a state treasure built on misrepresentation people....now get that man a drink and a microphone, I wanna hear some beats drop.

I'm on there as of last year, Geico owes me money apparently.

Huh, a guy I just did a job for with the same last name as me is listed on there like 5 times for uncashed NYS checks from a few years ago, I should probably shoot him a text with the link.

My deceased grandfather has a couple owed claims listed and has for years but I never bothered to try to claim it. My dad was the executor, he said it probably wasn't much and he thought you might have to reopen the estate to claim it. Might fool around with it tomorrow.

The claims owed date back to the mid 90s before he retired..

I got $2300 back from an old 401k account through a site like that once.  The state had it and couldn't "find" me.
