Is there a way to monitor and see what is being sent and received on Snapchat?
The hive is wise to all things...don't let me down! Kids. |

You could just let your kid learn to make and deal with their own decisions. But hey, that's what I would do. Or OP could be a father and be involved in his kids' lives and therefore know that kids are dumb when it comes to the risks of such behavior. Why would you condone/ encourage children doing risky things via snapchat? |
|
Set up parental controls and restrict Snapchat or any other apps you don't want them to use.

If I had that as akid I would have went out of my way to bypass the software just on principle. |

Why do your kids have smart phones? Are you serious? I take it you don't have teenagers. I don't have issues with my teens, their mother checks their phones any time she wants and they don't care. Mine have smart phones cause they use them for many reasons other than a phone. They down load apps and use them for school work, science projects, games and hundreds of other reasons. Why wouldn't your kids have a smart phone is a better question. |

As far as the Snapchat thing goes. I wouldn't let them have one. Too hard to monitor. |

Does that work, or can it be bypassed easily? Smart phones will be super smart by the time I have to worry about it, but I will have to worry about it eventually. |

Anything can be bypassed easily with enough willpower. Teach your kids. Like guns, smartphones are just tools. |

You could just let your kid learn to make and deal with their own decisions. But hey, that's just what I would do. This is pretty much what we've done with our daughter, I told her I gave her enough rope to hang herself. My parents were no where near us the majority of the time we were outside playing and doing stuff. Now that it's my turn, I decided to take the approach that my parents did. It seemed to work, to some degree. There are ways to catch your kids lying and doing things without helicoptering. YMMV |

I need my Apple ID password to download anything on my phone. No idea if there's an easy way around it. Does Snapchat have a full website? They could easily just log into that instead of using the app. |

Thanks to this app I have learned more about some of my kids friends then I ever wanted to know. Don't even want to go into detail on what I have seen and learned, yea for technology. This... I deleted mine a few days after turned 18 just to be safe |

| Some of you guys are some seriously draconian parents. Teach kids the consequences of poorly using technology and if they're smart they'll listen most of the time but most of your daughters are going to be sending someone a picture of their tits before they turn 21 so just hope they pick the right person. |
