What type and or brand are all you guys/girls using? Any pros or cons or things you wish you would've gotten differently?  Thanks for the help fellas

I would say Polar is your best bet for brands.  Only brand that is AHA recognized.  From there it really depends on the options youre looking for.

Also, only go with something that has a chest strap.  Pulse rate monitors are very inaccurate.

I have a polar FT4. The step below that in the FT series only has a single button and I thought that would be a huge pain so I went with the multi-button one. Supposedly polar works with a lot of big name cardio equipment so you can get you HR values to dispay on the machine, but I never verified that. It would be nice is if it displayed HR and elapsed time at the same time but its not a deal breaker. Also the alarm noise is pretty quite if you are in a loud enviornment.

correct. i've got one that works great, i just never use it.
