Yeah, I'm sure that's what haappened. It is, and it's happened to hundreds of others. But some people are too stupid to understand that companies who are in the Government's good graces do no wrong. Regulating bodies doing favors for companies they're supposed to be regulating. Pretty sure that's not very capitalistic. |

Everyone needs to remember that Monsanto is the company that poisoned Anniston, AL (same town that the CMP South store resides) with PCB's, the cancer rate in that area is like five times the normal rate. Creeks in that area are polluted for a thousand years, you can't eat fish in the river below it, etc etc.
I remember going by the plant as a kid, the air was so thick with the odor emulating from it it would choke you. The plant was like a mile from the downtown area, and was very populated nearby. Google Monsanto Anniston for more details. This was a big deal in Alabama for sure. |

Same way they always do. Attempted buyout, second attempted buy out. Then suddenly the EPA decides to seize land on the grounds that water runoff is effecting something in the county, and something vastly expensive must be done to "fix the issue." Grandparents were too old to mess with it, and the kids were afraid of the potential costs and penalties. I didn't have a say in it because I was only 12 years old at the time. |
