A MORAL QUESTION   Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally.

The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Consider each line - this is important for the test to work accurately.

You're in New York, New York City, to be exact . . . There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods . . . There are huge masses of water all over you . . You are a CNN (even though nobody on AR15.com would work for CNN, but play along) photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destroying power and is ripping everything away with it. Suddenly you see a woman in the water, she is fighting for her life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer, the woman looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is - it's Hillary Clinton! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take her away. . . forever.

You can either save her or you can take the best photo of your life - you can't do both.

And here's the question: (Please give an honest answer)
Would you select Kodak color film (ISO 400), or go with the simplicity of classic black and white?

Nah, black and white is more dramatic.

Being a serious photographer, I should have 2 or 3 cameras, one to all of them with a high speed setting,

I am going to shoot a roll of both color and b&w, in light Combat_Jack's point.

Shoot it with IR film. Should show that she is colder than the water...

I would use the color film because that's what the news is shot with now a days.

Actually, and I'm going to get you guys angry here, but I  used to be a commercial photographer (not a news photographer) and I have actually had to make up my mind about this subject in earnest.  I would do what I could to get Hillary out of the water.  I could not deliberately let someone die just so I could shoot a great photo.  Especially not over something like politics.  Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, etc., THAT would be different.

Another question: How do you save Hillary Clinton from drowning?
You take your foot off of her head.

save her, if i could

Well since my camera would be stuck to a nearby wall with my webbing, I should be able to swing down and grab her before the water takes her away. And have a great pic of it for my idiot boss!

Hypothetically, realizing that there is no way to save her without risking my own safety and she'd surely drown, I'd pull out my .45 and put 2 in her head so she wouldn't suffer the agony of drowning, hypothetically speaking of course.

... Trick question!

... You didn't mention lighting conditions.

... Not sure what shutter speed to set camera to

If I could save any person I would.  The question of payment for their crimes is a separate matter.  In fact, if I saw Hitler in the same situation I'd try to save him, even if I knew that he'd be headed for a hanging soon after.

And let's not let any "morality is all relative" creep into the discussion.

That'd be hypocritical.

ISO 400 is a little slow to capture every frame of the glorious moment.

I'd opt for a roll of FujiFilm Press 1600

ETA:  Saving or not saving her is not the question - Color or black and white is.  I would say color to capture EVERY moment of her being sucked into the pit of hell where she belongs.

Whichever type of film I have more of. That way, it won't be as much of a waste when I peg her in the fucking head with my camera.

Besides, I'd heard that her species didn't show up very well on film or in mirrors....

you can always turn a color pic black and white, but not the other way around

Me too (but news), and I could.

Does that make me a Bad Person???

On the topic, I would recommend a 5 Megpixel Digital, in addition to 1200 B/W film (extremely fine grain for speed)

One of them would get you a BUNCH of beers, at least from this board...

I have no moral obligation to risk my life to save another.

That doesn't mean that there aren't people I'd be willing to CHOOSE to take that risk for.

For Hillary, I'd hold out my hand just to give her hope that she'll be rescued, then just before she could grab my hand, I'd have an "itch" somewhere and have to retract that hand for just a moment.  I would pretend to be sad that she went under.

Forget the camera.

All that water would make me wanna take a piss real hard like.

Open wide Hillary! [:D]

I can respect that choice.  But, if you were on a team of mountain climbers, I'd suggest you point that out up front.  Because there'd be some that would think to themselves, "hey, I better not piss this guy off or say something he doesn't like, or I won't be able to trust my life to him."

And of course, if it was you that ended up needing saving, well...

you'd have to hope that you were on good terms with everyone in the climbing party.

But hey, you place your bets and take your chances just like everyone else.  No sweat.

[shock][:O]TWO SHOTS![:O][shock]

What a waste of ammo.
[slap]
Take one, slow breath, inhale slowly, exhale, hold your breath and aim either for her nose or right between its eyes, then squeeze the trigger.  If the sights have been set correctly only one shot should be needed.
If you’ve only inflicted a flesh wound, unless you are a member of the aquatic section of Peta, let the sharks have at her.
