Anybody heard about how it is going there these days? I might be going there later this year. It will be my first deployment, I'm in the army if that helps.

I heard mosul was getting shut down. Depending on how things go in July, word is that Talil will be one of the last places open for business.

Last I heard they turned it into a training base for the Iraqi Army.

Good ol' IMN. I spent a good month out there upgrading the place.

2006-2008.

I liked how the Kurdish Army used to say "hello" to passing Iraqi Police.

Hell, sometimes at night, that's how they would say hello to us. They were easily confused and excited. I was shot at by the ING a few times, actually.

IMN!! That was a fun tower to climb. We would stop in on patrol to take a quick breather. Little Haj store had Wild Tiger too...
