Well after getting everything arranged the way the other half wants, and a broken back I run into this

I had a bit of a blunder while moving into my house.  The way the furniture sits well leaves this lamp and one other in the middle no where near an outlet.

This house sits on a slab so installing one in the floor would be a bit difficult.  My first thought was running a flat strip extension cord under the carpet, but am hesitant with the fire hazard.  I figure the hive mind might have an idea.

An Industrial grade retractable drop cord from the ceiling should work nicely.

This.  As a (former) industrial electrician, we'd always do a ceiling drop.
