I am wondering if there is a concealed carry permit for more than one state. I know that my SC permit is honored in a few other states but is there any other permit for more states? If so where do I find info on it?

Check your States Reciprocity.  HERE is Florida's.

Get FL.  I think NH will only get you 12 or so more states, where FL gets you about 30+ more states.

May be wrong on my numbers.

My instructor told us that many states allow you to apply for "non resident" permits on the same certificate, so you cannot carry US wide but you can get alot inbetween.

How do I get a no res FL permit? How long is the course and is it pretty much like the sc permit test and course?

go to handgunlaw.us they have the info. the FL permit requires a NRA saftey course or equivelent iirc. Utah requires a liscensed utah instructor. either way your going to have to take another class.

Unless you have a DD214.  That suffices for Florida's training requirements.

SC+utah or SC+florida will give you most of the south east IIRC.

edit: go to handgunlaw.us and you can build a map that shows where you can carry with with permits you have

That looks a lot like the old packing.org site.  Is it the same people?

Get a New Hampshire Non-res.  They are like 20 bucks and take a couple weeks.

i dont know. the guy who did packing.org went back to school or something and didnt want to deal with his site anymore. i think handgunlaw.us sprang up to take its place. i dont know if anyone associated with packing.org is now working on handgunlaw.us but based on how packing.org disappeared i think it was a one man show, so that would mean handgunlaw.us couldnt be the same people.

IIRC, handgunlaw.us was around before pdo disappeared.

Michigans permit is honored in a lot of states too. I believe its only a couple behind florida. I can carry in all the south, most of the west, parts of the mid west and east.

I could theoretically get my resident Texas CHL.  And that'll make me good for 31 States.

Then I could get the the Florida non-resident, which will add Ohio.

Then I could get the Maine non-resident (shall issue), which will add Maine.

Then I could get the Massachusetts non-resident... that website seemed to indicate that it was very possible for someone to get a non-resident chl there if they already had their own State's chl.  Further investigation required.  At any rate that would add MA.

Then I could get Iowa's non-resident.  That one looks like a pita, though.  And they're a "May-issue" state, too.

Then I could get Nevada's (shall issue).

New Hampshire also looks theoretically possible.  Says it requires you to have a chl from another State, first.

So theoretically, I could get 7 different CHLs and be good for 37 States.

Oh, it also says you can get a Texas non-Resident CHL.

If you're only going to have one, Florida is the best way to go.

I refuse to be fingerprinted like a common criminal in order to be permitted to practice a Constitutional right.

Is there any way to get a FL concealed carry permit without being subjected to such treatment?
