I'd be leery about a flame thrower unless they were somehow contained, or you were in a secured area. All it would take is one of the bastards heading your way on fire to ruin your day. Shotgun (semi-auto would be better) seems like a good starting point. I don't know if a .223 would be enough to take down one quickly if it was on the charge or close range. Still might have enough left to take your ass out. Given the construction of spiders I'd want something that created a LOT of hydrostatic shock on entry, not something that would fragment like the .223. Mini-gun would be good for taking out a bunch at once. The ones that don't explode from mutiple .308 impacts would be shredded by so many hits so quickly.

I was thinkin a couple of the old long-barreled Winchester lever actions in .45-70...something with a good 6 rounds in the tube... Shoot one while you reload the other.. Either that, or a couple of Mossberg or Winchester shotties with 8 round tubes..slugs or buckshot. Either way.. |
PREACH IT BROTHER!!! They suck, I hate them... I am now nursing a spider bite as we speak. Looks like one of those f**kers got me. Wasnt it last week we were talking about 4xys2xxs's spider bite? "Dont kill spiders, they are good bugs" FUCK THAT!!!! |
+1 on that There are so many out there you will never be able to upset the balance of nature, but hey will have to learn to stay out of the HOUSE and if possible 50 from around it if not more. |
+1 I need an Minigun on the truck, and a mini minigun in 17hmr for me. the trick with gaint spiders is to mess um up all over. |
