I have a T/C White Mountain Carbine, 50 cal, 21" barrel, 1in48 twist, caplock.
I've had this gun for years and I'm finally planning on hunting with it in the upcoming muzzleloader season. It's an awesome gun and very accurate within the limitations of it's very short (14") sighting radius and factory sights. I've been shooting it with 350 grain Maxihunters/80 grains pyrodex and 385 grain Hornady great plains/90 grains pyrodex. These two loads shoot to approximately the same point of aim at 50 yards. What I'm wondering is what kind of velocity should I be getting with these loads out of such a short barrel? |
