OK now that topics can run up to 100 pages we seriously need the ability to remove threads in our 'My Active Topics' section. The MAT section is one of the primary reasons I am a member. When threads were stopped at 40 pages there was at least some opportunity for threads to drop out but now that they can run 100 pages there is no hope for them to fade away. I am getting EE threads from vendors that I asked a single question in, that never got answered by the way, from 2 years ago. I understand the coding and programming is not the easiest thing to do and we now have options to "New School TAG" and subscribe and such but I like the ability to see my recent posts and the responses. I am surely not the only person looking for this functionality. What say you? |

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=22&t=197822 I wish I had never posted in this thread. Threads only go to the archive if they are inactive. EE vendor threads keep getting bumped. |
You'd think they'd start a new thread after a while.

Here is another one that is a NON-EE thread that just won't go away. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=233665 |

The entire point of the tool is to track posts/discussions you are a part of. The only way to remove them would be to remove your posts from those threads, possibly destroying an important part of a discussion. The TAG option is a similar list so you can quickly track posts you WANT to follow, whether you post in it or not. To TAG a post you do not have to reply in it, which was done to give you more flexibility in tracking conversations without the spamming of "tag" in a thread. (Thus bringing zero to the discussion.) Just get used to using this tool more than the MAT and you'll see it's much more to your liking. |
Not always. I've got one that was moved to the Mods forum and then locked. I cant un tag it. |
OK, Thanks for the reply. I am just use to how things were before the last upgrade. I will start using the new feature more. |
Ahh... I haven't had that one. I guess you should stop posting in threads that will get trashed. Problem solved.

I hate those too, I should have known better before I posted in them. OK here is the crux of my problem, I use the MAT to find threads that I have posted in, I don't want to have to 'New School' TAG them too. I have tried the 'NS' TAG and it is fine but the old school Subscribe did pretty much the same thing. I understand the 'NS' TAG was to keep people from pointless posts and that is fine but I still would like to be able to clear the threads that I have posted in and no longer want to follow. Maybe a possible solution would be to allow an option for posts to automatically 'NS' TAG a thread. |
Another great example. I was "tagged" into one too, it finally died. I have not bought anything else on the EE but I do dread the day I have to leave feedback now. |
