Guys,I want to make a formal apology to the members of AR15.com.I forgot to log out of my user account & some J.O. that I work with noticed,then took it upon himself to agree to buy multiple items from various sections of the EE totaling $9100,then if that wasn't bad enough he trolled 1 FS add with a racial comment & posted a Thread entitled "How do I sell firearms to convicted felons" I want everyone here to know that it was not me,I am a Philadelphia Fireman,my father is a retired Philly Police Officer.There have been at least 10 Philadelphia Police Officers murdered by criminals in the past 4 or 5 years & I don't want anyone here thinking that I am the type of scumbag that would ever sell guns to criminals.I realize that none of this would have happened if I would have remembered to log out & this is what I am apologizing for,if any of you were offended by his words or inconvenienced in any way I apologize.The sellers have all been contacted & the situation has been explained to them,they were all gracious enough to understand & the Mods were gracious enough to re-instate my acct.Again I apologize to the entire board for my lack of security & promise to never let this happen again.Thank you for your time,Mick/NSS.

I'm not allowed to kick anyones ass,as much as I would LOVE to but me & the wife had our 1st child 3 months ago & I was told by one of the Lt's that I would loose my job with no questions asked if I retaliated in any way.So that is totally out of the question.The station Capt has been informed & there is going to be an investigation,I'm sure this guy will never admit it was him,but everyone I work with knows it's him.He's the ONLY guy I work with that is a member of AR15.com,nice coincidence huh?? I wish I knew his username here,I would have told the mods,but he's a real sneaky S.O.B. & I never got close enough to him to see what his name was while he was surfing this board. I'm glad you were able to convince Staff / Mods that it wasn't you, there aren't too many of the oldtimers left.

If so, staff can figure out who he is by the IP. Him trying to make it look like you're a child molester and trying to sell guns to felons is a pretty fucking serious deal, way beyond the realm of joking, and shouldn't be taken lightly by you or your superiors. I'd be kicking someone's ass if that happened to me, but then again I don't log in to stuff from public places and have been using fake info online since the early 90s. Internally yes ... but the IP Arfcom would see would be the same because they are coming from the same router. |

The shit he pulled could have had your ass in deep trouble with the feds. That stuff goes waaaaaaaay beyond "prank" material.
I have a friend who's a Paramedic for a Rescue squad. He noticed an co-workers computer left on, with Facebook still logged in. So he posted on this co-worker's FB page, with her own account, that she thought my friend was the best Paramedic she's ever worked with. Harmless prank. That's the kind of stuff you do. But going on someone's profile and trying to frame him of intent to commit a crime, and also trying paint that person as a pedophile!? YEAAAAH... that guy has gone from "playful prankster" to... outright vindictive asshole. He likely didn't do this out of some friendly pranking... but more out of hateful malicious intent. |

Is he typically an asshole in other ways as well.... or was this his first thing? ETA: If it were me, I would start a pit thread and give the guy an opportunity to fess up and protect his account or roll the dice on whether or not the admins can ID him by IP. At minimum, if he decides to hide he will probably be too afraid to surf Arf from work anymore. |

I was just thinking the same thing as soon as I read that post. my impression was that was usual herp derp goings on there. They did have an illegal soda machine with beer cans in it at the stationhouse, I guess they deserved points for that. |

Since you work in a firehouse, I'm assuming you're on pretty good terms with most of your coworkers, who probably don't want to see their buddy get fucked over like that.
And that you're all relatively strong guys from carrying around ladders and hoses and things of that nature. I'm also assuming you all wear steel toes as PPE on a daily basis. If I were you I might find these facts very interesting indeed if you find the perp. |

If I were you OP, I'd be having a discussion with my leadership at the firehouse about this coworkers choice to use your "identity" fraudulently on the internet to admit to even trying to commit federal crimes. Especially on this site, where we know there are watchful eyes.
