for $30 you could buy a life time supply of standard bamboo chop sticks, enough for your whole family chop sticks were never meant to be fancy or high tech So, I like the finer things in life. Sooo, good for you. I've been using chopsticks (when appropriate) since uncle Sam sent me to Japan in 1976. Food tastes the same, and delivers from the plate to the mouth just as tastily with restaraunt issue sticks. Congrats on using your money how you see fit, however! I congratulate you! |

That's pretty neat. I got my girlfriend these as a gag gift. http://f00.inventorspot.com/images/Swchopsticks3.jpg I eat with chopsticks 80% of the time and find I eat less. It takes a little longer than shoveling food into your face with a fork or spoon and I believe it gives my brain time to catch up with my stomach. I also find it relaxing. The light saber chopsticks are awesome, one of my leads at work has em. Yeah.. Chopsticks dont slow me down at all.. I can shovel in any method just as fast! |

What makes one pointy stick "finer" than another pointy stick? Using chopsticks is all in the manual dexterity of the user, not the dadgum piece of wood.

I was stationed in Japan for two years. I can use chopsticks (Hashi) as skillfully as any Japanese (almost). I still can't understand why anyone would think they are a good eating utensil, or why anyone would choose them over a fork. When I see American's using them in America, I think; There's a pretentious asshole. |

I think they are kinda cool... Once i hit rice, i have to switch out to a fork. Yeah.. most rice dishes are eaten out of bowls, if the rice is not sticky and can not be grabbed in clumps you bring the bowl up to your mouth and use the chopsticks to push rice from the bowl to your mouth. |

Marvel at the Japanese stainless steel! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8018/6958885138_1f64371851_b.jpg The wood is from broken baseball bats(white ash) from Japanese baseball teams... how earth friendly!!! http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8146/6958885102_4db55f46b7_b.jpg Yeah, it was an impulse by that I have been avoiding since they came out years ago. I got a pair of those a while back. They come in handy when I order chineese on CQ or lunch at work. |
