my
Last guy ( politically connected doctor) is now a certified gun nut. 1911 and ARs

Mission accomplished.

My next and newest shooting buddy is a young black guy at work.  He is a country boy and is familiar with shotguns and rifles .

But has never fired a pistol and doesn't own a gun.

Taking him Saturday.  Gonna pay for range time. Rentals etc

I had started him out with some Noir videos.  That lead to him

Asking about CCW and him asking for help choosing a gun

I have glock 26/33 but the rest of my guns are 1911s and SIGs

Gonna see if he likes

Shield,  Glock 43, Glock 26

Any other suggestions?

I don't bring up politics usually

Only much later( after he is established shooter)  will I talk  about his role in defending the right he now is exercising.

UPDATE

the shooting went well, last weekend. We shot vsrious CCW pistols.

Got a call today.  He bought a VP9.

I've never shot one

Do you have a G19 for to try? Because G19 is the answer. And definitely let him shoot an AR too if hes not already familiar with them.

Especially if hes a big enough guy to conceal something like a 19. Even just a full size 1911, something thats not really ideal for CC, he might enjoy it more if he can shoot it better than a subcompact.

If he's never fired a handgun the recoil of a compact 9 might surprise him.

Maybe a .22 to start things off.  Let him work on sight alignment and trigger squeeze before the snappier stuff.

Definitely let him try an AR.

And good job showing people how enjoyable exercising their rights are!

Now you have a perfectly valid reason to go buy one or two new pistols.
