So I posted a thread a month or so ago about paying $600 to the Stage Mechanics Union and not getting any work....
So I gave all this time to see if it would generate some work....still none. Since I was not initiated officially and was told I can get a refund BEFORE then as long as I didn't take a job I said screw this....went up to get my money back. I get $500 back ......in a freakin CHECK that will be mailed to me I paid them in CASH, I want CASH back!!!!
Still no work, bills due, and now I got to wait for a check.....guess I can be happy over the fact they are paying me back! 1st Union and LAST Union gig I will EVER look at!!!! Got ciggs and beer, and some Brats to grill for the night, guess I can't complain too much |

Good for you, sorry for your troubles, now go support the National Right to Work Act. http://www.nrtwc.org/category/legislation/national-right-to-work-act/ |

I am COMPLETELY Non-union, the ONLY reason I went for it was my bud talked me into it.
He is an EMT and started working the same day. Guess there is a shortage of Medics. Telling me I would clear 1000-1500 a WEEK and TWICE as more once I become a "certified Grip" Or Best Boy Guess in the end, when money is tight I was willing to do whatever I could to take care of the Family. Looking back....I'd rather sling grease as a cook then deal with the Union BS. |

If you have no work and bills due, why do you smoke and drink? ![]() Because the $15 I spent ain't going to make a difference, and because I can. I'm not totally broke, I do side jobs and have some income, just not steady. Wife has her unemployment. Our main bills are paid, the luxury stuff like Cell phones, Dish Network, ect are what I am letting "slide" Thanks for your concern....Dad. |

Not to be a Bobby Buzzkill or anything but those "luxuries" can be cut/ended thus you won't have them as a re-occuring cost, not to mention those companies providing you service for 'free.' I suppose since you're getting your Dish and cell phone service for free maybe I should let those 'slide' as well, after all everyone is being stretched thin; If I could get those fore 'free' why should I pay for them? Sorry you're in a bad spot, (I've been there so I know what you're going through,) but frankly the attitude you exhibited in this post is part of a larger problem with Americans today. Lastly ditching the cigs and beer might be a smart thing until you have some regular work. Just a thought... |

Lastly ditching the cigs and beer might be a smart thing until you have some regular work. Just a thought... Well, It will cost me MORE to cancel the contract we have with Dish than to pay for it. I'm not skipping out on the bill, when I get my check from the Union it will be paid, cell phones are a must have since we dropped the landline from ATT. Got to have a cell for jobs and what-not. We {wife, me & stepson} have Metro PCS with no contracts and the basics.. nothing fancy. I Understand the whole saving a few hundred from ciggs and beer, as far as ciggs....I am addicted and you can't just "drop" it..it's a progress and I am not ready to stop yet. Trust me, I have cut where I can, the DISH is really the only luxury I have and it's the basic package. My internet is running off the WIFI feed from McD's down the road {which is free} I checked with my n'bors and they don't have wireless so thats the only other option of where I get free Internet About the App. Fee {$100} I think that covers the office's lunch...today when I went in, they were all eating from a local Italian restaurant .......dirty whores!!!!! |
I paid them in CASH, I want CASH back!!!!
