Every executable file I have gives me this when I open it.
Unable to locate component This application has failed to start because msumdlf.dll was not found. After clicking ok about 3 times the executable then works normally. I ran all of my virus and spyware software (AVG and Adaware)normally and in safe mode. I figured my rundll32 may have been corrupted so I recopied it to the sys32. I suspect the problem is in the registry, so I googled msumdlf.dll and I could not find shit on it. Any recommendations. HALP! ETA: I knew I should not have been looking at redtube ![]() |

Thanks for everyones help, but it was not malware or a virus that was the problem. It was Microsofts Proprietary spirit that had steam coming out of my ears for the past week. For all of you dont have automatic updates turned off for your pc, do so now. Automatic updates downloaded a "fix" for service pack 3 xp, I had service pack 2 (which I was happy with and had no desire to get sp3). Even after restoring last know good configuration the problem persisted. In a way my sys32 folder was out of wack. Anyway, after much virus scanning and registry editing and malware waxing, I read in an obscure tech thread of someone having a similar issue, so I downloaded service pack 3. Wa la! problem solved. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions.
